Celebrate the history of Bowman Field at the Aviation and Military Heritage Festival
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Bowman Field Aviation and Military Heritage Festival presented by Humana Military is a family friendly festival to celebrate the history of Bowman Field.
On Saturday, October 6th & Sunday, October 7th, get your cameras ready and enjoy the up close sites of vintage planes, vehicles and educational exhibits on display from WWI through today.
Want to ride on a B25 Bomber? Ford Trimotor? Plane rides will be available for purchase onsite at the festival, weather dependent.
Enjoy sounds from yester year with the Ladies of Liberty, have lunch or a snack from one of the food trucks onsite or let the little ones enjoy the kids craft area supported by the Frazier Museum.
Like to run? Join in the Bowman Field 4 Miler race sponsored by the Independent Pilots Association and finish by running down the runway.
Pancake breakfast and beverages included for running participants.
Learn about the history of Four Roses Bourbon throughout the years as bourbon used to be transported via plane from Bowman Field.
