LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating after a Tennessee man crashed his plane early Saturday morning in southern Indiana.

Indiana Conservation Officers say it happened just after 1 a.m. in the Jackson-Washington State Forest.

31-year-old Chad Lowe of Crossvillle, Tennessee, crashed his 1962 Piper colt airplane he was piloting because of a mechanical failure of some kind.

Lowe crashed into a dense area of trees in the forest, near Skyline Drive.

Conservation officials said Lowe hiked to a nearby home for help. He was uninjured in the crash.

The FAA is investigating the crash.
